What Margin is

Margin is a resume-tailoring tool. It reads your resume against a job description and suggests edits built only from experience already in your resume. It does not invent facts, numbers, or skills you have not documented. You are responsible for reviewing every suggestion before using it.

Who can use Margin

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

Your content

You own your resume content. By submitting it to Margin, you grant us a limited license to process and store it for the purpose of providing the service. We do not claim ownership of anything you upload. You are responsible for ensuring that the content you submit is your own.

AI-generated suggestions

Tailoring suggestions are generated by AI. They are intended as a starting point, not a finished product. You are solely responsible for the accuracy and integrity of any resume you submit to an employer. Margin does not guarantee that any suggestion will be accurate, appropriate, or effective for your specific situation.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Margin to create resumes for people other than yourself without their knowledge
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service
• Use the service in any way that violates applicable law
• Submit content that contains malware or is designed to harm others

Disclaimer of warranties

Margin is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or produce any particular outcome for your job search.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Douglas Wang shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Margin. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months prior to the claim.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your data is deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you by email or in-product notice before changes take effect. Continued use of Margin after that constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County, California.
